The parish of Malborough is in an area of outstanding natural beauty which lies between Dartmoor and the sea with the Eddystone light 16 nautical miles out to sea. Tourism is the principal business followed by agriculture and there are several large farms within the parish.
South Huish, South Milton and Thurlestone are adjacent parishes with the towns of Kingsbridge and Salcombe approx. 6 miles away. The resident population of the parish is approximately 1,000 and there are over 30% of homes in the parish with no permanent residents.
The Parish Council consists of 9 Councillors and a part-time Clerk. Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month, other than August.
